CSUB Hosts Fresno State Wednesday Night

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.— CSU Bakersfield (2-1) hosts Fresno State (3-1) Wednesday night in baseball action at Hardt Field. CSU Bakersfield and Fresno State are playing for the 16th time with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 8-7. CSUB defeated Fresno State in three of four games a year ago.

Chuck Buchanan (R-Jr., Las Vegas, Nev., Allan Hancock College) is the Roadrunners' probable starter. The 6-5 lefty is 0-1 on the year, taking the CSUB loss in relief against Kansas State Feb. 18. CSUB will be facing the Bulldogs' Garrett Mundell, a freshman who is 1-0.

The Bulldogs took three of four from Butler in a season opening series. Daniel Moultrie hit .538 during the series (7-of-13). Patrick Hutcheson hit one home run, drove in four runs, and scored seven runs during the set.

CSU Bakersfield won 2-of-3 against Kansas State Feb. 18-20. Oscar Sanay (So., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS) hit .538 during the series (7-of-13) with two RBI's and four runs scored. DC Legg (R-Sr., Murrietta, Calif., Cypress College) became the fifth CSU Bakersfield baseball player to hit two home runs in a single game (the first since 2010) during the series finale and blasted three round-trippers during the set. Legg is hitting .417 and has driven in seven runs.
