Loyola Marymount Defeats CSUB 11-1

LOS ANGELES, Calif.---Loyola Marymount (23-20) handed CSU Bakersfield (26-18) a 11-1 defeat Sunday afternoon at Page Stadium.

The Lions scored six runs in the bottom of the third to break the game open. LMU added two runs in the sixth and three more in the eighth. Matt Koch and Matt Lowenstein combined for six hits (of the Lions' 14) and four RBI's. Lions' pitchers Alex Gillingham and Jeremey Burrell limited the Roadrunners to five hits.

DC Legg (Jr., Murrietta, Calif., Cypress College) tallied two of the CSUB hits. Oscar Sanay (Fr., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS) scored the CSUB run in the fifth.

The series concludes Monday at LMU. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
