Loyola Marymount sweeps CSUB 8-2

LOS ANGELES, Calif.---Loyola Marymount (24-20) completed a three-game sweep of CSU Bakersfield (26-19) by defeating the Roadrunners 8-2 Monday afternoon at Page Stadium.

Leading 2-1, the Lions used a five run seventh inning to break the game open. LMU added on run in the eighth. Evan Simonitsch paced the Lions as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI's. Matt Lowenstein was 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Eight different Roadrunner batters had one hit. Cael Brockmeyer (Fr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) and Oscar Sanay (Fr., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS) drove in the CSUB runs. Sanay also scored a run as did Tyler Shryock (Fr., Tehachapi, Calif., Desert Christian HS)

CSUB head to No. 13 UCLA for a three-game series beginning Friday night at Robinson Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
