Celis Lowers School Record In 1500 For 4th Week In A Row; Taylor Second in 400m At Cal Poly Invitational

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.--CSUB sent the men's and women's track and field teams to the Cal Poly Invitational Apr. 2.

On the women's side of the ledger; Arianna Celis (Sr., Perris, Calif., Riverside CC) lowered her own school record in the 1500m for the fourth consecutive week. Celis posted a time of 4:29.74 in the event to place third. She was also third in the 800m (2:13.54).

Princess Watts (Jr., Apple Valley, Calif., Granite Hills HS) ran a personal best time of :58.42 in the 400m to finish second. Casey Glassey (Loma Linda, Calif., Riverside CC) charted a personal best in the 5000m as she placed second. Glassey earned a time of 17:46.13 in the race. Klarissa Stoval (Sr., Garden Grove, Calif., Golden West College) was fifth in the 400m (:58.99).

In men's action; Jordan Taylor (Fr., Palmdale, Calif., William Pete Knight HS) finished second in the 400m as he recorded a time of :48.59. Jusus Mora (Fr., Sparks, Nev., Spanish Springs HS) was fourth in the 100m. Matthew Turkington (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Centennial HS) came in fifth in the 400m (:50.26).

"Today was a good meet overall," said CSUB Head Coach Alan Collatz. "We had some of our men's sprinters running in an off event, but Jordan Taylor had a good performance in the 400m. Arianna was outstanding again, breaking her own school record again. Our times are improving and we are continuing to get better."
