LOS ANGELES ? Perhaps hung over from winning the Aggie Invitational in Davis last weekend, the CSUB volleyball team gave its most listless performance of the season Friday night, falling to Loyola Marymount 25-9, 25-21, 25-13 at Gersten Pavilion.

Senior outside hitter Sarah Warner (Tehachapi HS) led CSUB with 10 kills and a .368 attack percentage, but her offensive effort was the lone highlight for CSUB, which fell to 8-7 with the loss. LMU improved to 10-4.

While the Roadrunners entered the match as one of the nation's top serving teams, ranked No. 7 nationally in service aces, and LMU came in with a reputation as a team that sometimes struggled in serve-receive, on paper Friday's match figured to be competitive. But the ?Runners rarely challenged the Lions from the service line and LMU ran its offense efficiently.

CSUB fell behind early and never was in the first set. The 'Runners hit .379 in a competitive second set, but struggled defensively and LMU was able to stay close. With the 'Runners leading 14-11, a CSUB service error and a bad set sparked a 6-1 Lion run that gave LMU the lead for good.

CSUB will take the weekend off before returning to action at Cal State Northridge Tuesday night.
