BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Cal State University Bakersfield Volleyball has announced the hiring of Raunak Doshi as First Assistant Coach under Head Coach Kristen Wright.
Doshi most recently served as Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at Saint Francis University (2024–26), where he helped guide the program to a second place finish at the 2025 NEC Championships — the program's best finish since 2008. The team set program records in 2025 with 20 overall wins, 14 NEC wins, and a .689 winning percentage. Saint Francis also finished first in Division I in aces per set in 2024 and ranked third nationally in 2025.
During his tenure, Doshi coached multiple record-breaking student-athletes, including NEC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, First Team All-Conference selections, All-ECAC honorees, and an All-American Honorable Mention selection. Several players set program records in hitting percentage, kills, assists, and service aces.
Doshi also served with Saint Francis Men's Volleyball (2024–25), coaching the 2025 NEC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and three NEC First Team selections, highlighted by victories over George Mason and Charleston (W.V.).
Previously, Doshi was Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach at Arcadia University (2022–24), leading the program to three straight conference tournament appearances and wins over nationally ranked Marymount (#15), New Paltz (#8), and California Lutheran (#4). He began his collegiate coaching career at Moravian University (2021–24) as Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach, contributing to multiple top-10 program records.
A native of Reading, Pa., Doshi is a graduate of Governor Mifflin School District (2015). He competed collegiately in club volleyball at Washington & Jefferson College and Millersville University and has extensive experience competing at the Open/AA grass level and in beach tournaments with GAV.
"I am honored to accept this opportunity and to work alongside Coach Wright whose leadership is defined by vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence," Doshi said. "It is both a privilege and a responsibility to contribute to a team culture shaped by such principled and forward-thinking leadership."
"Raunak is a rising star in the industry," Head Coach Kristen Wright shared. "Raunak was impressive in every regard. I'm confident he will elevate our gym, recruiting, and will be a community favorite. I'm excited to welcome Raunak and his fiancée, Rhiannon, to Bakersfield and into the Ramily."
