LONG BEACH, Calif. - Luka Leskur recorded a season-best time in the 100 backstroke and the Roadrunner 200 medley relay team and 800 free relay team earned sixth and fifth places, respectively, as the CSUB men's swim team held on to seventh place in the team standings after two days at the UCI/Nike Cup.
Leskur swam a 50.42 in the 100 back, earning a third place finish in the finals Saturday night in Long Beach.
The 200 medley relay team of Leskur, Griffin Bracke, Rene Hjorth and Malcolm Reid led off the night with a 1:34.60, sixth place finish. Hjorth followed with a solid individual performance, placing 11th in the 100 fly with a season-best mark of 50.46, more than 1.5 seconds faster than his previous top mark of the year.
In the 200 free, Henry Holmberg took 13th in a time of 1:43.08, while Nathan Vizcarra and Chase Kreitler both posted season-best times, finishing 19th (1:44.55) and 21st (1:44.76), respectively.
Griffin Bracke broke the one minute mark in the 100 breast for the first time this season, placing 19th in a time of 59.74, and the 800 free relay team finished fifth in a time of 6:55.88.
The Roadrunners wrap up competition at the Nike Cup Saturday with the finals session scheduled to conclude around 8 p.m.
