Pelton Announces 2026-27 Swim & Dive Schedule

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Cal State Bakersfield Director of Swimming & Diving Shane Pelton has announced the upcoming Roadrunner schedule for the 2026-27 season. The `Runners will compete throughout California and across the West region before turning their attention to the MPSF Championships and national postseason competition.

CSUB will open the season at home on Sept. 25 against The Master's University before hosting the annual Alumni Meet on Sept. 26. The Alumni meet aligns with the annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony later that evening, where legendary Roadrunner Swim and Dive head coach Ernie Maglischo will be inducted. Alumni interested in supporting can get tickets at gorunners.com/hof.

Cal State Bakersfield will then travel to Stockton, Calif., for the PAC Invite on Oct. 2-3 before competing at the MPSF Open Water Championships in Long Beach on Oct. 17.

The Roadrunners will close out October with a pair of gender-specific road meets, as the women travel to Fresno State on Oct. 23 and the men head to Las Vegas to face UNLV on Oct. 29. CSUB returns to Bakersfield to host Saint Mary's College on Nov. 6-7 before making its return to Boise, Idaho, for the NW Collegiate Invite from Nov. 19-22.

Following the midseason invitational, Bakersfield will host UC Santa Barbara on Dec. 17 before hitting the road for back-to-back meets. The CSUB women will face San Diego State in San Diego on Dec. 18, followed by a Dec. 19 matchup with UC San Diego in La Jolla.

The `Runners will begin the new year in Stockton, where they will compete against Pacific and Simon Fraser on Jan. 22-23. The regular-season slate concludes with a trip to Seattle University on Feb. 5-6.

"I'm super excited to get this team racing again. We put together a schedule that will challenge us, give us great opportunities to race, and show us exactly where we stack up against many teams in our conference and across the country!" said Pelton.

Postseason competition begins in St. George, Utah, with the MPSF Women's Championships from Feb. 17-20, followed by the MPSF Men's Championships from Feb. 22-25.

CSUB will also look to send Roadrunners to the National Invite Championships, and NCAA Zone E Diving Championships. The NCAA Women's Championships will be held Mar. 17-20 in Austin, Texas, while the NCAA Men's Championships will follow Mar. 24-27, also in Austin.
