Geishauser Selected to Preseason All-Conference Team

IRVINE, Calif. – Ahead of the kickoff of the 2025 Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer season, The Big West announced the results of its Preseason Coaches' Poll Thursday afternoon. Roadrunner defender Luka Geishauser was one of 11 men selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team, as voted upon by the league's head coaches.

Geishauser has been an anchor on the CSUB backline for the past two seasons and at the end of 2024 he was recognized for his efforts by being named First Team All-Conference. The native of Dusseldorf, Germant was one of just four `Runners to start all 17 matches and Geishauser helped CSUB post a 1.24 goals against average on the year, sixth-best in the program's Division I history.

Led by Head Coach Adam Grant, Cal State Bakersfield played for the Big West regular-season title in the final match of the 2024 season. Despite coming up just short of holding the trophy, Grant's squad disproved the 2024 Preseason Coaches' Poll, which predicted the `Runners to finish tied for last.

Heading into the 2025 campaign, the league's coaches showed CSUB a sliver more of respect, slating Bakersfield to finish sixth of ten teams. Grant and the `Runners look forward to the opportunity to disappoint their colleagues by remaining one of The Big West's contenders.

The `Runner men's soccer season officially kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 21, when CSUB heads to Utah Valley for Opening Night. Prior to that, the `Runners will host The Master's University on Saturday, Aug. 16, for a preseason exhibition before their home opener on Aug. 25 against California Baptist.
