KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court on Thursday, celebrating outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men's basketball student-athletes. Bakersfield boasts three Roadrunners who earned national recognition for their effort in the classroom.
Corey Stephenson received NABC academic honors for the second year in a row working towards his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Two Roadrunners debuted on the Honors Court this year,
Kadar Waller and
Cameron Clark. Waller is currently one year away from completing his Masters in Business Administration and Clark completed his first year towards a degree in Child Development.
CSUB has produced at least two Honors Court student-athletes in each of the last four seasons. For the second year in a row, the Roadrunners match their program high of three student-athletes for the first time dating back to the 2021-22 season which saw Justin McCall, Jack Schoemann, and Cameron Smith all be honored and last year with Dalph Panopio, Cameron Wilbon, and
Corey Stephenson. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Rod Barnes' program continued to grow its Academic Progress Rate for the seventh year in a row. Barnes' vision for producing both successful athletes as well as well-rounded young men, ready for life after graduating from CSUB, continues to guide the team's priorities and actions.
