BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Big West Conference announced today that CSU Bakersfield sophomore outside hitter Nicole Zake has been named to the 2025 Big West Honorable Mention Team, standing as the only Roadrunner to earn conference recognition this season.

Zake finished the regular season ranked 3rd in the Big West and 98th nationally in attacks per set (10.20). She also placed 8th in the conference in kills per set (3.29) and 3rd in total attacks (1,081), solidifying herself as one of the league’s most relied-upon hitters.

The Simi Valley native posted 20 matches with double-digit kills, highlighted by:

26 kills vs. CSUN (Nov. 5)

20 kills vs. UC San Diego (Oct. 23)

18 kills vs. CSUN (Oct. 2)

18 kills vs. Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 14)

Zake also contributed defensively adding multiple double-digit dig performances throughout the season.

Her Honorable Mention selection caps an impressive sophomore campaign and underscores her growing impact within the Roadrunner program.
