Runners Sweep Titans Behind Zake’s Record Night

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — CSU Bakersfield volleyball earned a dominant sweep over Cal State Fullerton (25–14, 25–20, 25–18) on Thursday evening at the Icardo Center.

Sophomore Nicole Zake led the Roadrunners with 18 kills, breaking into CSUB’s Top Five all-time for kills in a Division I single match. She also recorded her third-best hitting percentage of the season at .298, adding one ace and one block for a total of 19.5 points.

CSUB hit .233 as a team, while limiting Fullerton to .082. The ’Runners finished with advantages across the board — 41 kills to 30, 39 assists to 27, 60 digs to 58, and six aces to two.

Luiza Da Cruz tallied 35 assists and 13 digs, while Julia Udell led the defense with 14 digs and one ace. Suelen Lima added 12 kills, and Druegan Davis contributed six kills and two blocks.

The Roadrunners opened strong with a .333 hitting percentage in the first set and maintained control throughout the match to secure the 3–0 victory.
