BAKERSFIELD, Calif. –BAERSFIELD, Calif. – Transfer student Katerina Georgiadis won big werst defensive player of the week. This is the second week in a row that a Cal State Bakersfield student athlete has receive these honors. 

• Georgiadis stood out among the crowd with the digs, she tallied 19 dig in four set against Idaho state and had 16 kills in a three set match against Boise state.
• Closing out the weekend, the Libero  put up 18 digs in a win against Gonzaga.
• Georgiadis has now tallied double digit digs in her last six matches.

The `Runners will be on the road for the next week heading up the 99 for the Cal Central Challenge.  Bakersfield will be in the Icardo Center  September 27th for the Big West home opener. Doors open at 5:00 pm with a 6:00 pm game time.  Purchase tickets at gorunners.universitytickets.com.
