Get to Know CSUB Men's Soccer: Forwards

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – One week into the 2024 season, we are continuing our position-by-position breakdown of Head Coach Adam Grant's squad.
The Roadrunner men's soccer team is undefeated through their first two games, taking a 1-0 victory at home against Utah Tech before earning a road draw against San José State.

We want to introduce fans to the team, providing more insight into the person behind the name, number, and uniform. The final group in our position-by-position breakdown of the `Runner men's soccer team, meet Bakersfield's forwards.

Notable

Grant on the `Runner forwards: "We have really good experience with this group. We put up some good numbers last year and I think they can even improve that this year with creating chances and putting them away. They're quick and athletic and cause any team problems, which makes them dangerous. Some have pace, some have the ability to come inside and link up and create from there, so I think that adds something different."

#7 Bilal Mihoubi (Returner)
- 5-foot-11, senior
- From Montreal, Quebec, Canada, went to High Mowing School
- Started all 34 games over the last two seasons
- Last year, one of three `Runners to start all 17 games
- Tallied 7 points, third-most on the team, on 3 goals and 1 assist
- A marketing major
#9 Francesco Aiello (Returner)
- 6-foot-1, sophomore
- Native of Orlando, Fla., went to Lake Brantley High School
- Appeared in 5 matches as a true freshman last season
- Played season-high 34 minutes at Santa Clara (Sept. 21)
- Plans to major in business
#11 Rashaad Ogun (Returner)
- 5-foot-9, senior
- From London, England, went to Barking Abbey School Sixth Form
- Transferred to CSUB from Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo.
- Earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2022
- Last year at CSUB, started 12 times and played all 17 games
- Ranked second on the team with 3 assists
- A kinesiology major
#12 Connor Mautino (Returner)
- 5-foot-10, senior
- From Lake Forest, Calif., went to Santa Margarita Catholic High School
- Transferred to CSUB from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio
- Led Storm to NCAA Division II Final Four in 2022
- Earned Second Team All-Big West in 2023
- Led team in points (12) and goals (6)
- A finance major
#20 Aaron Biggerstaff (Newcomer)
- 6-foot-0, senior
- From Fort Collins, Colo.
- Transferred to CSUB from Metropolitan State University of Denver, whose mascot is also the Roadrunner
- Scored 17 goals and played over 4,000 minutes in his time at MSU Denver
- Pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree in Spanish
#21 Joey Velasquez (Returner)
- 5-foot-8, sophomore
- From Manteca, Calif., went to Sierra High School
- Earned First Team All-League honors
- Played in 13 games last season, starting once
- Recorded game-winning assist at UNLV
- Plans to major in business
