• The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team is back at Hardt field for a three-game series to end conference home action.
• The first game of the series will begin Friday night, celebrating National Student-Athlete Day at 6 pm. 
• Continuing through the weekend, they play on Saturday at 5 pm. Celebrating the Bakersfield’s seniors Sunday afternoon, the `Runners will play their last home game of the 2024 year. 

 CSUB vs UC Santa Barbara (31-12, 17-4 BW)

• UC Santa Barbra is currently one of the top teams in the Big West and are 25th in the nation.
• This will be Bakersfield’s toughest challenge yet, historically 23-9 all time since beginning to play Bakersfield in 2009.
• The Gauchos are currently on a three-game win streak.
• Bakersfield will continue play next Tuesday, May 14th as they start wrapping up their season on the road. They will play a single game against Fresno State, who CSUB beat earlier on this season.

• The Cal State Bakersfield track and field program is ready to compete in the championship season.
• The Roadrunners travel to San Luis Obispo, Calif. this weekend for the 2024 Big West Track & Field Championships.
• Day one is set to start at 10:00 a.m. with the women's javelin throw. The first track event on Friday will be the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Day two on Saturday will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the women's hammer throw and the track events will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay.
• The championship meet hosted by the Cal Poly Mustangs will be streamed live on ESPN+.
• `Runners bring a solid team who has had success over the year.

CSUB at Big West Track and Field Championships - Friday-Saturday, May 10-11, All Day 

• The throwers squad have had a strong season with great performances from everyone. 
• Matthew Garrett and Javier Toro have punched their tickets to NCAA West Preliminary Round in Arkansas later this month for the men’s hammer throw. Both men have marked huge personal bests in the event and moved up on the CSUB all-time list. 
• Jessi Solis leads the Roadrunner women’s team with nine top 4 finishes in the hammer throw. 
• Helena Valentic is set for the women’s 3,000m steeple chase. Valentic holds the outdoor school record in the event.
• Jacob Yagers ranks seventh in the Big West for the men’s 1,500m. He sits at third all-time in program history for the event. 
• The sprinter duos of Nerissa Thompson and Jahnyl Donaldson-Howden rank in the top 10 for CSUB in the women’s 100m. 
• Jaztyn Greer and Julia Stein will take on the hurdles at the championship meet. 

CSUB vs. LMU (24-23, 7-5 WCC)

• Saturday, May 7 @ 12 p.m. (DH) at Bakersfield, Calif.
• Roadrunners host LMU in midweek double header before Senior weekend.
• LMU sits a 7-5 in conference play, good for second place tied with Santa Clara and one game behind Saint Mary’s.
• The Lions lead the all-time series 23-15 over the Roadrunners.
  • CSUB has not beat LMU since 2015, winning 2-0.

CSUB vs. UC Riverside (16-28, 10-14 BW)

• Friday, May 10-11 2:30 p.m. (PT) at Bakersfield, Calif.
• UC Riverside comes off a 1-2 weekend versus UC Santa Barbara.
• UCR is sixth in the Big West standings, as well as in batting average with a .256 average and seventh in pitching with a 4.16 ERA.
• Bakersfield was swept by Long Beach State over the weekend.
• Bakersfield leads the all-time series with Riverside, 65-37-1.
  • The Roadrunners have not beat the Highlanders since joining the Big West conference, with their last win coming in 2017, winning 5-2.
