- The Cal State Bakersfield Track and Field program heads to SoCal this week for three meets.
- First up, the throwers squad will be at the Cal State LA Twilight on Wednesday. The CSUB men's hammer throwers are ranked #12 in the nation.
- Bakersfield will have one runner at the Leopard Distance Carnival at the University of LaVerne.
- To close out the week, multiple athletes will represent CSUB at the popular Bryan Clay Invitational.
CSUB at Cal State LA Twilight - Wednesday-Thursday, Apr. 10-11, All Day
- The throwers squad continue dominate in their respective events for the Roadrunners.
- Matthew Garrett took home another win in the men's hammer throw last weekend. Garrett is third all-time for CSUB and ranks Top 25. Javier Toro has been impressive as well in both the hammer throw and shot put. Both men will compete in the shot put on Thursday.
- On the women's side, Jessi Solis is set to compete in the hammer throw. Last weekend she set a personal best mark of 171'3", she is 4th all-time in school history.
CSUB at Leopard Distance Carnival - Friday, Apr. 12, All Day
- Helena Valentic is set to represent Bakersfield at the Leopard Distance Carnival. Valentic will race in the women's 3,000m steeplechase. The Croatian holds the second fastest time in CSUB history with her personal best of 11:05.09 that she set earlier last month.
CSUB at Bryan Clay Invitational - Saturday, Apr. 13, All Day
- Skyblue Gonzales set a personal record of 22.56 in the men's 200m last weekend. Gonzales will race in the 400m at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
- Meshach Davis has shown impressive results in the sprints. He holds PR's of 10.90 in the 100m and 22.41 in the 200m. The newcomer will toe the line in the 100m this weekend.
- Julie Johnson will race in the women's 400m. The pair of Nerissa Thompson and Jahnyl Howden-Donaldson are set for the 100m.
- Julie Stein will double in the women's 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles.
- Jacob Yagers is set to represent the `Runners Satuday evening for the men's 1,500m.
