• The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team is back on the road for a weekend conference series versus the CSUN Matadors.  
• After having a tough weekend against the UC San Diego Tritons, the Roadrunners are looking to change up their game heading into the Friday afternoon for game one of the series. 
• Following that game, the `Runners will play a 2 pm mid-day game on Saturday and wrap up the series on Sunday at 1 pm.

 CSUB vs CSUN (23-14, 11-4 BW)

• Losing only four conference games on the year, the Matadors will be a tough challenge for the Bakersfield ball club.
• Northridge is currently on a four-game winning streak, coming off a series sweep against Cal State Fullerton.
• Historically, CSUN leads Bakersfield 23-13 since first starting play back in 2009.

CSUB vs. CSUN (19-22, 3-15 BW)

• Friday-Saturday, April 26-27, at Bakersfield, Calif.
• Northridge comes off a series playing UCR, where they went 1-2 in three close games.
• CSUN sits just a game ahead of the `Runners in the Big West standings.
• The Matadors had a nice start to their season, going 16-7 in non-conference competition.
  • Since conference play, they have three wins coming against Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton, and UC Riverside.
  • Despite their struggles in conference play, the Matador’s run differential is only -15.
• CSUN features some of the conferences’ best pitching, sporting a team ERA of 2.79 on the year, which sits in second behind Cal State Fullerton and a 3.24 ERA in conference play.
  • Lauren Carranco ranks fourth in the Big West with a 2.46 ERA and third in with complete games (11).
• Northridge’s biggest weakness is their hitting, batting .248 on the year and .236 in conference play.
• Bakersfield finished the past weekend in Hawai’i with stellar performances coming from Logan-Ray Gaspar, Rylee Price, and Dani Hunter.   
  • Gaspar finished the weekend with a batting average of .556 tallying five hits, walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.
  • Price hit her first home run of the year and a double while driving in three.
  • Hunter continued her dominance in Big West play batting .444 with four hits and a walk.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Track and Field team prepares to travel up north in the valley for the Fresno State Invitational. 
• The program is coming off a busy week down in SoCal, they look to have another sucessful weekend as they continue to prepare for the Big West Championships next month. 

CSUB at Fresno State Invitational - Friday-Saturday, Apr. 26-27, All Day 

• The throwers continue to shine for the Roadrunners. The squad of Matthew Garrett, Javier Toro, Axel Salazar, Emanuel Banuelos, and Jessi Solis will open up the weekend on Friday in the hammer throw. They have been placing high at the meets, rewriting the record books, and setting personal bests all season long. 
• Garrett, Toro, and Banuelos are set to return Saturday for the shot put. 
• The men's sprinters are set to be in the 4x100m relay early Saturday to kick off the day on the track. Last week the team posted a season best. 
• The team will consist of Meshach Davis, Kenny Rugnao, Jacob Mounmanivong, and Matthew Karapetyan. 
• In the men's 400m, Skyblue Gonzales will toe the line. Last week, Gonzales set a season best time. 
• Jacob Yagers will lead the middle distance squad in the men's 1,500m. He ran the program's fastest time for the event in 30 years two weeks ago when he set a personal best of 3:47.76.
• Teammates Alex Cuevas and Matthew Berry will also race in the event. 
• Helena Valentic will take a step back from the steeplchase where she's broken the school record in back-to-back weeks. The native of Croatia looks to have a change in speed and compete in the women's 1,500m. 
• Julia Stein and Jaztyn Greer will continue their focus in the women's 100m and 400m hurdles. 
• In the women's sprints, Jahnyl Donaldson-Howden has shown significant progression in both the 100m and 200m this spring. She will look to continue dropping her time this weekend. 
• Coming off a big personal best in the women's 800m, Neyda Martinez will double in the 800m and 1,500m this weekend. 

• The Beach Volleyball program is headed into the postseason after concluding their last set of games in Stockton. 
• CSUB will be travelling down to Long Beach for the Big West Championships to compete for the conference title.
• The tournament will kick off on Thursday as the`Runners  face off against the number #3 seed Hawai'i.
• If the team wins against the Bows, they will face off against either Long Beach or Sac State shortly after. All games played on Thursday will determine the bracket placement for the elimination games on Friday.
