BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Cal State Bakersfield track and field program added new signee, Emilia Mandela this week. Mandela is ranked top 50 in the world for the 60mH during the 2024 indoor season. She will bring tremendous experience on the track to CSUB. Mandela is from Opole, Poland, her international exposure in the sport and range in different events will be helpful for the Roadrunners.
"I am extremely excited that Emilia will be joining us next year," said assistant coach Joshua Biagtan.
"Emilia has been on quite a streak in the last year, from clocking several sub 14 races in the 100mH last spring to dropping a huge personal best in the 60mH and being a top 50 ranked U20 hurdler this indoor season."

- PB of 13.82 in 100mH.

- 2nd place finish in the 100mH at the 2023 U20 Polish Outdoor Track & Field Championships
- 2023 U20 European Championships Qualifier in the 100mH
"Emilia is just getting going. I believe she will be a huge contributor in many different areas and her international competition experience will serve her well. She is a great person and great student; she will be key to helping us build our identity and culture here in Bakersfield," said Biagtan.
