CSUB vs. UC Riverside (15-17, 10-10 BW) – Big West Championships

• Wednesday, March 12, 6 p.m. (PT), at Henderson, Nevada
• The Roadrunners will meet the UC Riverside Highlanders for the third time this season.
  • The two both won one each, CSUB beat UCR in the first matchup in Bakersfield 80-56.
  • UCR got the best of CSUB in the second, winning 65-63 on a buzzer beater.
• The Highlanders enter the tournament 7-3 in their last ten games.
• Bakersfield has won three of their last four, creating momentum and heating up before entering the tournament.
• Both teams have struggled when not at home, CSUB finished the season with a 2-13 road record, UCR finished with a 4-12 road record.

• The Beach Volleyball program will be at home for the second straight week for the Bakersfield Beach Bash.
• The`Runners battled a tough fight last weekend at home and are looking for a successful day on the courts.

• The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team is opening up Big West play this weekend as they welcome the the Wahine Warriors in a three-game series.

• Historically, Bakersfield leads against Hawai’i, since 2018 the `Runners have won 9-6 games, with the last year going 2-1 in favor of CSUB.

• One lone `Runner, diver Dyson Modica, will represent CSUB this week at the NCAA Championships regional qualifier.

CSUB vs. UC San Diego (7-17)

• Saturday, March 14-15 (PT) at La Jolla, Calif.
• The Tritons enter this week coming off the Lance Up Invite.
  • They went 3-2 beating Harvard twice and Sacramento State once.
• CSUB is coming off the Silicon Valley II and a series with Pacific, going 0-5
  • The Roadrunners were walked off in three games off errors.
• Head-to-head the Tritons have the advantage 7-4.
• CSUB won the last matchup 10-1 (5), but lost the series last season in Bakersfield.

• The Roadrunners track and field outdoor campaign continues this weekend with the Cal State La Invitational in Los Angeles. 
• Cal State Bakersfield will be at the Jesse Owens Track for the two-day meet. 
• The javelin and hammer throw events will be held at Cerritos College. 
• On Friday the first event will be the women's javelin throw starting at 10:00 a.m. The first event on Saturday will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the long jump. 

CSUB at Cal State LA Invitational - Friday-Saturday, Mar. 15-16, All Day 

• Javier Toro,  Axel Salazar, and Matthew Garrett are scheduled as the first `Runners in action with day one of the hammer throw starting at 12:00 p.m. 
• The women's hammer throw with Jessi Solis begins shortly after. Solis became the fifth best throw in CSUB history for the event. She looks to carry over her historic mark this week. 
• Day two of the LA Invitational will have all the track events. For the women, Nerissa Thompson enters the weekend with personal best of 12.19 in the 100m. Thompson is set to compete in the 100m and 200m. 
• Julie Johnson missed last week due to illness but is back on the track and will join Thompson in the 200m. The indoor 400m school record holder is ready for the 400m as well. 
• On the mens side, Jacob Yagers continues to impress in the middle distance, last week he ran a 3:56.95 in the 1500m and a 1:57.52 in the 800m. 
• Newcomer Matthew Karapetyan clocked in a person record in the 200m with a 22.43. He is set to double in the 100m and 200m this weekend. 
• Skyblue Gonzales enters the weekend with a season best of 50.18 in the 400m, he is set to compete in the event.
