at UC San Diego, Sept. 14

• Despite promising opportunities through both games last week, the Roadrunner Women’s Soccer team had plenty of learning moments to try and start this week’s conference slate with a victory to steady the ship.
• Cal State Bakersfield finally gets to the conference part of its schedule with one match this week against UC San Diego.
  • La Jolla, Calif., 7 p.m. (PT) kickoff
  • The Tritons will not charge for home game tickets this year, so cheer on the `Runners for free if you are in La Jolla!
• With just four games between these two teams in their respective histories, UC San Diego does have the advantage with the `Runners currently holding a 0-1-3 record against the Tritons.
• Since joining The Big West in 2021, CSUB has tied UCSD both times, including last year’s penultimate regular season matchup that ended in a 2-2 draw.
• UC San Diego most recently played Loyola Marymount and also lost to the Lions by a 1-0 score, and played GCU in a season-opening exhibition loss, both teams that CSUB also lost to.
• Both CSUB and UCSD have decorated Division II histories and will be looking to gain some bragging rights after drawing each year as conference foes.

• The Cal State Bakersfield men’s soccer is on a two-match win streak, highlighted by Jesse Wangusi's Big West Freshman of the Week performance. The Roadrunners will ride that momentum into the rest of September, which features five-straight road matches.

at Utah Tech, Sept. 14

• CSUB (2-1-2) will travel to southern Utah to take on Utah Tech (2-2-0)
  • Greater Zion Stadium, St. George, Utah, kickoff at 7 p.m. (MT)
  • CSUB and UT (formerly known as Dixie State) will be meeting for just the second time in the all-time series.
  • The `Runners and Trailblazers first met last season. That clash in Bakersfield ended in a 1-0 victory for visiting Utah Tech.
  • The Trailblazers defeated Lindenwood last week, but fell 1-0 against the same San Francisco squad that Bakersfield defeated 1-0 last week.

at UNLV, Sept. 17

• CSUB (2-1-2) will head back to the Mojave Desert to face UNLV (1-3-1)
  • Johann Memorial Field, Las Vegas, Nev., kickoff at 7 p.m. (PT)
  • CSUB and UNLV played each other at least once a year from 2009 to 2019, formerly sharing the WAC.
  • Bakersfield owns a 9-3-3 record all-time against the Running Rebels.
  • The `Runners won their last meeting against UNLV, back in 2019, earning a 1-0 victory in Bakersfield.
  • UNLV's roster features a familiar face to CSUB in Michael Vogel, who spent three seasons in Bakersfield (2019 to 2021) before transfering to UNLV. Vogel tallied four goals and three assists in his two competitive seasons as a `Runner.
• Both of CSUB's matches this weekend will be live streamed via WAC International TV. A subscription is not required to view the game, but fans will have to create an account with HUDL in order to access the streams.

• Heading to the last tournament of the season before Bakersfield kicks off Big West play, the Roadrunner volleyball team will be traveling to Stockton for three days to play in the Central Cal Challenge. 
• Bakersfield native Ava Palm, comes off a hot weekend, averaging 3.31 per set for kills and 3.62 per set for digs. 
• vs. Sacramento State on Thursday, Sept. 14, 3 p.m. (PT) 
  • Sac State is currently 6-4 for the season, losing two of three games during the Gator invitational last week. 
  • Averaging 3.63 kills per set on the season, senior Bridgette Smith leads the Hornet offense.
• at Pacific, Friday, Sept. 15, 6 p.m. (PT)
  • The Tigers are currently 5-4, coming off a 1-3 tournament in Colorado. 
  • Looking for a win this weekend against Pacific, CSUB has a historical record of 6-1 all-time against the Tigers. 
• vs. Fresno State, Saturday, Sept. 16, 12 p.m. (PT)
  • CSUB is looking to right the ship against its cross-valley rival with the `Runners' last win coming in 2019. 
  • The Bulldogs are 4-4 starting off the 2023 season. Fresno State has a 2-1 record against common opponents with CSUB, which split a pair of matches against Utah Tech and Southern Utah.
