Johnson Highlights Weekend at Fresno State Invite

FRESNO, Calif. – The regular season concluded this weekend for most of the athletes on the Cal State Bakersfield track and field team. On Friday and Saturday, Apr. 28-29, the Roadrunners competed at the Fresno State Invitational.

Julie Johnson's performance in the women's 400-meter race was the highlight of the weekend. The sophomore ran a personal best and moved up on the all-time list in the event.

Top `Runner Performers

On Friday, Jessi Solis threw a personal best in the women's hammer throw. Solis's new PR is 163'2". Teammate Kayla Prince also had a personal best performance throw of 153'5". Prince now has the 13th CSUB all-time mark in the event.
Saturday's slate, was the rest of the events. Julie Johnson reset her personal best in the women's 400-meters. The sophomore ran a 56.15 to move to eighth all-time in program history.
Skyblue Gonzalez has improved his time in the men's 400-meters for yet another week. Gonzales has run a PB for the seventh straight time. His best time is now 48.62.
In the women's invitational pole vault, Miranda Miller placed fourth overall with a jump of 13'07.75".
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Riley Slayton, Julia Stein, Jaztyn Greer, and Julie Johnson had a season best performance time of 3:52.41.
Jacob Yagers was the top finisher for the `Runners in the men's 5,000-meters. In Yagers' first time competing in the event, he finished third overall in a time of 15:07.22.
Matthew Garrett finished fourth in the men's shot put. Garrett had a mark of 53'11".
