Slayton, Miller, and Yagers Win at Bulldog Classic

FRESNO, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield track and field program competed at the Bulldog Classic, hosted by Fresno State on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 17-18. The Roadrunners continued to have great results as a team. Riley Slayton, Miranda Miller, and Jacob Yagers win in their events.

Top `Runner Performers

The men continued to have athlete's athletes finish in the top-three for the hammer throw. Thomas Richardson (184'7") and teammate Matthew Garrett (184'2") finished the event in second and third place.
Julia Stein finished the women's 100-meter hurdles in 14.64. The junior hurdler has showed consistency in all her races throughout the season thus far.
Julie Johnson ran the fastest women's 400-meter race in over 20 years. Johnson finished the race in 56.35. The personal-best time was over a second faster than her performance last week.
With a jump of 13'03.75", Miranda Miller finished the women's pole vault in first place yet again. This is Miller's fourth consecutive win of the season.
In the men's shot put, Javier Toro threw a personal-best of 51'07.25". The sophomore finished third overall.
Riley Slayton won the women's 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.77. She has proved to be consistent in the event. This is the third time she finished the event in first place.
Newcomer Jacob Yagers won the men's 3,000-meter race with a time of 8:44.98.
For the men's 1,500-meter race, Yagers and Matthew Berry finished back-to-back in sixth and seventh place. Berry's time of 4:01.36 is good for #!9 in program history.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Slayton, Stein, Greer, and Johnson finished in second place with a time of 3:54.34.
