Jogerst Earns CSUB's 3rd Freshman of the Week Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – For the third time this season, a Cal State Bakersfield Men's Soccer rookie was named the Big West Freshman of the Week. After Jesse Wangusi earned the honor on Sept. 11 and fellow freshman Luka Geishauser picked up a nod a week later, CSUB's Adrian Jogerst took home the award on Monday.

A native of Freiburg, Germany, Jogerst scored the game-winning goal in Bakersfield's 2-0 victory over UC Irvine last Wednesday. The win gave Bakersfield three points, moving the `Runners into first place in The Big West standings for the rest of the day.

Bakersfield now has a total of four weekly Big West honors on the season, with goalkeeper Brandon Limes taking home Defensive Player of the Week previously.

The `Runners (6-2-4, 2-1-1 BW) continue Big West play with a pair of road matches this week. CSUB will take on UC Santa Barbara Oct. 11 before heading down to face UC San Diego Oct. 14.
