Big West Announces 2023-24 Men's Soccer Awards

IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced the 2023 Men's Soccer major awards and All-Conference Teams on Tuesday at noon, and Cal State Bakersfield collected a bevy of honors, nearly twice the amount this year than the previous two years combined. A total of 7 awards were dolled out between 6 different `Runners, as Bryson Hankins was named to the All-Big West First Team, Connor Mautino made the All-Big West Second Team, Luka Geishauser collected an Honorable Mention and All-Freshman Team honors, Brandon Limes also earned a Honorable Mention, as well as Adrian Jogerst and Jesse Wangusi who both earned All-Freshman Team nods.

Bryson Hankins became the first `Runner in the Big West-era to earn First Team honors, doing so while being second on the team in points (10) and goals (3), as well as pacing the squad in assists (4). Hankins did all of this while anchoring Bakersfield's right wing as an attacking full back. The three-year `Runner capped off his CSUB career having amassed 42 starts in 44 total appearances for 3,596 minutes played.

Connor Mautino, as Bakersfield's primary striker, burst onto the scene as a Division II transfer to lead the `Runners with 6 goals and 12 points on the way to an All-Big West Second Team nod. Mautino also converted three-of-four penalty kick goals and paced the team with 23 shots on goal.

Luka Geishauser earned both an Honorable Mention on top of All-Freshman honors while anchoring the midfield defense, compiling 1,204 minutes in 15 appearances. Brandon Limes, the standout transfer goalkeeper, started all 17 matches for CSUB while posting the third-most shutouts (6) in a single-season during CSUB's Division I-era. Limes earned an All-Big West Honorable Mention as well. Adrian Jogerst and Jesse Wangusi both earned All-Freshman Team honors despite a combined 1,350 minutes between the two, as they both stood out in limited appearances with Wangusi bagging two goals and Jogerst totaling five points.
