Results

FRESNO, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield men and women's track and field continue to put the program on notice with several highlights from the West Coast Relays. Miranda Miller led the Roadrunners on Friday earning her fifth pole vault win against a noteworthy group of jumpers at host Fresno State.

"This was a highly competitive meet. UCLA, Utah, Washington, Colorado State, and many others," explained Director of Track & Field, Cross Country Marcia Mansur-Wentworth. "I thought we competed very well overall."

Miller has now won five of her last six events this outdoor season. It took a mark of 4.15m (13'7.25") to out vault Colorado State's Celyn Stermer and UCLA's Katerina Adamiec and finish on top.

Curtis Threlkeld ran the third fastest time in the 800m race Friday. His time of 1:51.22 was the first of any Big West runner to cross the finish line and second of any collegiate attached competitor.

Thomas Richardson snagged another top mark in his specialty event, shot put, on Friday. He threw for 16.51m (54'2"), a personal best, behind Colorado State's Mariano Kis and UCLA's Jacob Wilson. Richardson now ranks 15th all-time at CSUB in shot put.

Evan Vigrass moved up the all-time list to 17th in javelin throwing fourth best in the event at the West Coast Relays. His personal record (54.64, 179'3") was second against other conference opponents in the event.

Riley Slayton was fifth in the women's 400m hurdles Friday at the West Coast Relays. Her time of 1:01.10 was first among Big West hurdlers and 2nd best in program history. Julia Stein and Jatzyn Greer also had improvements in time this weekend in the 400mH.

Bakersfield went sixth and seventh in men's high jump as Jesus Alverez led the charge although both CSUB athletes cleared 6'4" at the mat.

Hannah Walker paced the `Runners in women's high jump clearing 5'1.25" and tying seventh overall, third among Big West jumpers.
Bradley Bryant placed seventh in long jump leading the Big West jumpers behind 6.75m (22'1.75").

Mariah LeSure finished under 12 seconds (11.99) in the 100m dash placing eighth overall behind one Big West sprinter in Cal Poly's Shelby Daniele.

Next Saturday on April 9, CSUB track and field will head to the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational down in Claremont, Calif. on the back end of the 2022 outdoor regular season slate.
