Late Goal Lifts UCSD in Friendly Match

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield men's soccer open and closed their spring season on Saturday with an exhibition match against UC San Diego. The Tritons found the back of the net in the 86th minute off of a free kick near center field.

Cooper Lachencruch was awarded the assist while UCSD midfielder Lucas Tager was credited the game winner.

Bakersfield controlled the pace of the first half, keeping the Tritons off the corners and holding them to two shots in the period. The Roadrunners finished the game advantageous in shots and corners.

Captain Carlos Armendariz highlighted some of the challenges that brought the men's team closer this spring.
