Four First Place Finishes at CSUN

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield men and women's outdoor track and field earned four first place finishes on Friday. The Roadrunners bested the men's hammer, men's long jump, women's 400-meter hurdles and women's high jump at the CSUN Red and Black Invitational.

Big West Conference foes Uc Davic and UC Irvine were also at the meet.

Bakersfield's men's throwers showed out in numbers. Hugo Santana was the first to win an event for CSUB in Northridge as he threw for 184'6" in hammer. Corbin Chronister was behind him in second while Tom Richardson placed fourth.

Bradley Bryant recorded his first win on the season. He out jumped everyone in long jump with a personal best 22'8" mark.

The Roadrunners were competitive in women's hurdles on Friday behind Riley Slayton's first place finish and Julia Stein in third.

Hannah Walker bested the women's high jump competition clearing the bar at 5'0.25" on Friday.

Miranda Miller paced all women's vaulters at CSUN by seven inches. She cleared the bar at 12'9" to take first in the event.

Ryan Bentley went head-to-head with Josh Farmer from UC Irvine in men's high jump. Both cleared 6'3.25" but Farmer came away with first and Bentley took second.

Director of Track and Field, Cross Country Marcia Mansur-Wentworth responded to Friday's result saying, "We're making progress each week and moving forward with great effort and attitudes."
