CSUB Set For Cal Poly Mini Meet Wednesday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield men and women's outdoor track and field heads to their first meet hosted by a Big West Conference school, Cal Poly. The Roadrunners will participate in the Cal Poly Spring Break Challenge, a condensed ten event format, on Wednesday in San Luis Obispo.

CSUB is entered in seven of the ten events listed.

Discus	100H/110H
Shot put	400m
Pole vault	Long jump

Tom Richardson and Corbin Chronister will each throw discus. Richardson will also compete in shot put where he is off to a great start despite missed time.

Julianne Finch, Miranda Miller, Alexa Schacher and Kassidy Neptune will all get attempts in pole vault on Wednesday. Miller and Finch have each had impressive opening jumps in their first two meets back.

Riley Slayton, Julia Stein, Kailee Yoshishige, Evan Vigrass and Brandon Andrade will compete in the hurdles and 400-meter race in order to prepare the quintet for their specialties – the 400m hurdles – on Saturday at Westmont College.

Derek Crawford joins Andrade and Vigrass in the 400-meter race. Jesus Alverez and Andrade will add Roadrunner representation in long jump.

Following the Cal Poly Spring Break Challenge, both teams will quickly prepare for the Westmont College Invitational on Saturday. All thirteen athletes above will return along with the rest of the outdoor team competing this spring.
