Rogic to Compete in TYR Pro Series

Bakersfield, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield backstroker Kris Rogic will compete at the TYR Pro Series San Antonio this week, as part of his continued quest to represent Croatia at the 2021 European Championships and Tokyo Olympic Games.

The TYR Pro Series features many of the fastest swimmers in the United States, and this week's event will host Olympic Gold Medalists Katie Ledecky, Caleb Dressel, Nathan Adrian and Ryan Lochte among others.

Rogic will race the 100m and 200m Backstrokes against a field that includes 100m world-record holder, Ryan Murphy.

The event is invitational only, and Rogic was eligible due to his Olympic Trial cut times, set between 2019 and 2020 at Croatian National and World Championship events.

"We're excited that Kris will have a chance to race again," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "He's tired, and we haven't shaved or tapered for this event, but this meet will get him race exposure against some of the best in the World and prepare him well for upcoming meets."

Rogic boasts long course personal best times of 55.98 in the 100m Back, and 2:04.13 in the 200m Back.

Swimming the 200m Individual Medley is also a possibility in San Antonio. His best time in that event is 2:05.76.

Following this week's TYR Series race, Rogic will taper and rest in anticipation of April's TYR Series competition in Irvine, Calif.
