Bakersfield has had a number of successful throwers most recently in junior Corbin Chronister who already boasts impressive marks in hammer, discus and shot put. Chronister was 2019 WAC Outstanding Field Performer; 2019 WAC all-conference in all three events; 2019 WAC champion in hammer and discus and a 2019 qualifier for the NCAA West Preliminary in both events.

Jacob Whitby, Tom Richardson and Hugo Santana see their first full season as Roadrunners. Richardson is a freshman throwing in hammer, discus and shot put. Whitby and Santana are transfer juniors throwing hammer and discus implements.

CSUB adds depth in hurdles and jumps in men's outdoor with a pair of hurdlers and three athletes across high jump, long jump and triple jump. Brandon Andrade was a 300m hurdles top ten finisher at state in high school while Evan Vigrass brings collegiate experience in hurdles transferring from Riverside City College.

Ryan Bentley was a high school standout in high jump and will continue to focus on one event. Jesus Alverez and Bradley Bryant are two-event athletes. Alverez, a freshman, competes in high jump and long jump while Bradley Bryant, a junior college transfer, competes in long and triple jump.

JJ Flores and Derek Crawford return for their second season competing in sprints.

Women's outdoor track and field return a strong group of pole vaulters that swept the event in their 2020 season opener at Long Beach State. Julianne Finch, Miranda Miller and Alexa Schacher took first, second and third respectively. Kassidy Neptune joins the three again in pole vault this year.

Finch's seniority within the group is not just in class but in her career accomplishments. She has accumulated five conference honors in three seasons. Miller is following behind in her footsteps as she earned a conference honor in her first indoor championship last year.

Riley Slayton leads a young group of hurdlers in just her second full season with the Roadrunners. She was a 2019 WAC bronze medalist in the 400m hurdles. Freshmen Julia Stein and Kailee Yoshishige are each coming off successful prep careers in hurdles. Stein is from Germany while Yoshishige is from Oregon.

Bakersfield has two women throwing this season in Jessi Solis and Kayla Prince. Hannah Walker returns and gives the `Runners a women's athlete in high jump this season. Bianca Frausto is tasked with competing in the long-distance events for CSUB.

Altogether the Roadrunners have twenty-two athletes back on campus and eager for an opportunity to showcase their skills this season and work towards a
