Swim & Dive Heads to Dixie State Invitational

Bakersfield, Calif. – For the first time since the 2020 Western Athletic Conference championship in Houston, Tex., the CSU Bakersfield swimming and diving team will compete together as a team, outside of the John S. Hillman Aquatic Center. The Roadrunners depart Tuesday morning for the three-day Dixie State Invitational, in St. George, Utah, beginning Thursday, Nov. 18.

"To say we're excited would be an understatement," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "Traveling together will be a great experience for our team and the meet provides a unique opportunity to compete against some former WAC rivals, while getting a first look at some of our new MPSF competitors."

CSUB will be joined at this week's invitational by BYU, Cal State East Bay, Dixie State, LMU, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.

The `Runners will wear their tech suits for the first time this season and could post several personal best times in St. George.

Ryan Brimer, Loren Gillilan and Kris Rogic have led the way for the Bakersfield men this season, while Autumn D'Arcy, Lorena Jerebic and Mikayla Popham are the top scorers on the women's team to date.

Antonio Milin, Kaden Denner, Ariane Skeggs, Tabea Mose and Danielle Albright have also swum well in the early going and look to solidify their early dual meet success with top times against this week's steep competition.

"The times we see in this meet will factor heavily into our relay decisions for the MPSF meet in February," Hansen added.

The `Runners will also look to score in the diving well, with Lauren Carson, Maya Stefanski and Dyson Modica making significant contributions in dual meets with Pomona-Pitzer and Pacific.
