`Runners to Host High School Development League

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield baseball program is preparing to kick off its 2019 Fall High School Development League, a series of two-hour mini camps where young athletes can come and train with one of California's top baseball teams.   

CSUB Head Coach Jeremy Beard and his Roadrunner coaching staff will be holding these camps every Monday and Wednesday night for the next four weeks. The staff welcomes any and all boys in 9th-12th grades to come out to practice and play on Hardt Field while having a great time improving their baseball skills. Camp runs from 6 – 8 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday from Sept. 16 until Oct. 9.

On Mondays, players will work on individual defense at their respective positions while also swings in with hitting groups. Wednesday nights will feature scrimmages and simulated games for campers to have their chance to shine under the bright lights of Hardt Field.

Athletes who wish to attend all eight sessions can do so for just $375 with a camp hat and shirt included in the price. A four-session pass is available for $165 and is perfect for campers with other obligations on one of the scheduled weeknights. Campers can also sign up for just one session at $50 a night, but an additional $25 will be required (upon request) for the hat and shirt.

Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring their own t-shirt, baseball pants, glove, bat, cleats, running shoes, hat, helmet and any other equipment they deem necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Water will be provided continually throughout the evening camp and parents are welcome to stay and watch.
