Bakersfield Adds Fifty-one Point Win To PR Results

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – CSU Bakersfield was one point away from a triple-digit score after a complete game on both ends of the floor against the Puerto Rico All Stars.

Junior center Vanessa Austin caused havoc in the paint for the third-straight contest. She led all scorers with 21 points to help Bakersfield close its foreign tour with a 51-point (99-48) win over the Puerto Rico All Stars.

Austin got going in the second half, scoring 14 of her 21 points in the third and fourth periods. She also had seven rebounds.

Jasmin Dixon had 13 points, while graduate transfer Andie Easley and Jayden Eggleston each added 12 points. Eggleston was also active on the glass and matched Austin in rebounds. Easley tallied five assists for the third-straight game. Freshman Lexxus Green was the fifth Roadrunner to finish in double-figures with 10 points.

Tyonna Singleton was one point shy of joining the group of five. She had nine points and four assists against the Puerto Rico All Stars.

Mackenzie Bond grabbed the most rebounds of any player with nine in the contest. Dalis Jones was the best facilitator on the floor as she finished with a game-high six assists. The five-foot-two guard also pulled down six rebounds on the afternoon.

The All Stars had one player in double figures. Leading scorer Leilanys Cruz had 17 points in the contest but didn't find much help from her teammates.

Bakersfield outscored its opponent in all four periods and held the Puerto Rico All Stars under 20 points in each quarter. Both teams recorded their highest scoring margin in the third period. Bakersfield scored 27 points while the All Stars added 18 points to their point total.
