Rogic, van Krimpen Earn All-WAC Honors

HOUSTON, Texas – Sophomore Kris Rogic and senior Owen van Krimpen earned Second Team All-Western Athletic Conference honors on Thursday night to lead the CSU Bakersfield men's swimming and diving team during the second day of the WAC Championships.

"Kris Rogic led the night with his 200 IM," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "Loren (Gillilan) had a great finals moving up two spots tonight. (Richie) Campbell and (Noah) Hickman also had great swims. The 200 free relay had four rookies on it and they handled the pressure like studs."

Individually, van Krimpen got the night off to a solid start as he took eighth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:33.05). Rogic continued the momentum in the next individual event, placing sixth in the 200-yard individual medley and did so by swimming the third-fastest time in CSUB history (1:48.58).

Despite finishing fifth, the CSUB 200 free relay team of Ryan Brimer, Michael Hart, Noah Hickman and Richie Campbell swam the second-fastest time in school history (1:20.64).

Sophomore Loren Gillilan capped the night by adding six points to the team total with an 11^th-place finish in the 50 free (20.42). Gillilan qualified for the finals with a 20.34, a time that's good for third in CSUB history.

During the morning session, Nate Cummins finished 13^th and Adam Estrella took 15^th in 3-meter diving to add six more points to the Roadrunner haul.

At the halfway point of the Championships, CSUB sits in sixth place with 131 points.
