BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield Athletics Department is proud to announce that 55 Roadrunner student-athletes will take part in Friday's commencement ceremony as part of the 2018 graduating class.

On May 18, the `Runners will march into the Main Soccer Field and across the stage, capping their careers as both students and athletes. CSUB's scholars will join more than 1500 undergraduate students at Friday's graduation.

The CSUB student-athletes have earned degrees across 13 different majors. Of the 55 `Runners graduating this spring, an outstanding 84% are first generation college students, starting a tradition of academic accomplishment in their families.

The 2018 graduating class of `Runners has played a huge role in helping revitalize academic excellence at CSUB. As a whole, the CSUB Athletics Department has enjoyed a cumulative GPA of over 3.0 for the past six terms. Just four years ago, that average was at 2.8 and this group of seniors were catalysts for the change. The 55 student-athletes graduating on Friday have a 3.18 cumulative GPA.
