Biography

2018 (SENIOR): Started 31 games and appeared in 39...led the team with five home runs, good for seventh in CSUB single-season history...finished career with six homers, ranking 10th all-time...tied a school record with two home runs against Hawaii on April 18...eight total bases against the Rainbow Warriors are tied for seventh in single-game history...became everyday third baseman after a pinch-hit, RBI double against NM State on April 7...finished third on the team in slugging percentage (.412)...20 RBI rank third on the team...earned Academic All-WAC honors.

2017 (JUNIOR): Played in 12 games, starting five times...recorded three hits in 22 at-bats...hit first home run during the first game of the WAC Tournament against Sacramento State May 25...drove in four runs and scored four times...did not committ an error in 35 chances at first base (31-4-0).

2016 (SOPHOMORE): Hit .288 with two home runs and a team high 32 RBI’s for Bakersfield College...second on team in doubles (10)...scored 18 runs...team advanced to CCCAA Tournament Super-Regionals.

2015 (FRESHMAN): Posted a .312 batting average and 12 RBI’s for Bakersfield College...scored 10 runs and was fifth on the team in doubles with nine. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Ridgeview High School...coach was Jason Hunker...named second team Bakersfield Californian BVarsity All-Area as a senior after earning honorable mention honors as a junior.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 8, 1996...son of Jose de Jesus and Yolanda Martinez ...a business administration major... brother Octavio Martinez was drafted in 1996 by the Baltimore Oriales out of Bakersfield College and after playing professionally for 18 years he became the Washington Nationals bullpen catcher...Brother Juan Martinez was drafted by San Francisco Giants in 2006 out of Oral Roberts and is now playing professionally in both Mexico and Independent ball here in the U.S...Brother Rolando Martinez is playing professionally in Mexico after a successful college career at Oral Roberts.
