`Runner Men Conclude USC Diving Invite

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Roadrunner men's diving team wrapped up the USC Diving Invitational on Sunday afternoon with two final rounds of competition. CSU Bakersfield's two divers competed in the 3-meter event as freshman Adam Estrella placed sixth in the finals.

"This invite has been a good experience for all of my divers to be able to see and compete with tough competitors," said Melissa Gore, Diving Coach at CSUB. "Hopefully this experience motivates my team to push themselves even more at practices and competition."

Estrella, a native of Rancho Cordova, Calif. scored 239.70 points in the finals after posting a mark of 232.00 in the preliminary round. His two-round total of 471.70 was good enough for sixth of 10 men.

Fellow freshman Drew Huerta placed 10th with a two-round total of 355.95. The `Runner women opted out of the platform competition and had the day off on Sunday.

The `Runner divers will return to Bakersfield as the CSUB swimmers will get back in the pool for competition. CSUB will head back to Las Vegas, Nev. for the UNLV Invite, Nov. 16-18.
