BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield opens a seven-game baseball road trip this week. The trip gets underway Tuesday night at 6 p.m. when CSUB travels to Loyola Marymount.
LMU begins the week 20-20 before hosting Hawai'i on Monday. After defeating the 'Runners last week, the Lions took two of three conference games at Pacific.
Phil Caulfield now leads the team in hitting at a .347 clip. Cassidy Brown paces LMU in hits (55), doubles (14), home runs (6), RBI's (.31), and slugging percentage (.553).
The Roadrunners will start Max Carter (0-6) while the Lions have not announced a probable starter for the game. The game will be available on TheW.tv.
CSUB heads to Utah Valley for a three-game Western Athletic Conference series that begins Friday night at 6 p.m. (MDT). Saturday's game in Orem is set for 6 p.m. (MDT). The series concludes Sunday at 12 p.m. (MDT).
Utah Valley begins this week with a 22-18 overall record and a 8-7 mark in WAC play. The Wolverines host BYU Tuesday night before welcoming the Roadrunners to Orem this weekend.
Utah Valley's Greyson Bogden is tied with Seattle U's Sheldon Stober for the WAC lead in doubles (15). Bogden is second in the conference in total bases (81). Bogden and teammate Mark Kreuger are tied for third in the league in hits (54). The Wolverines' Mark Krueger is fourth in the conference in RBI's (27).
On Friday night, CSUB will start Isaiah Moten (1-2) against lefty Patrick Wolfe (1-2). Saturday's probable starter for the Roadrunners will be Andrew Hansen (2-6). Hansen should face Danny Beddes (4-3). AJ Monarrez (3-4) will get the call for CSUB on Sunday against another lefty, Jackson Cofer (3-4).
