The Vaqueros called timeout which resulted in a UTRGV point. The Vaqueros again tied it at 21 before the 'Runners sped to three straight and a match point. The Vaqueros kept the match going with an Alisha Watson kill. CSU Bakersfield won the match when Grasso put down her 15th kill of the match for a 25-22 fourth set victory.

“I thought we did a good job of stopping their big hitters,” said CSUB director of volleyball Giovana Melo. “We were focused on doing the little things and playing as a team. This was a big win for us as UTRGV was off to such a strong start. This gives us momentum and confidence going forward.”
The Roadrunners (5-11, 2-1 WAC) hit the road for the first time in WAC play next Thursday when CSUB travels to UMKC for a 7 p.m. (CT) start.
