BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Three Bakersfield players have been selected All-Conference on the eve of the Roadrunners beginning the 2014 WAC Tournament.

Taylor Aikenhead (Sr., Lancaster, Calif., Bakersfield College) was chosen first team All-Conference. Aikenhead led the team in victories (7-7), striking out 74 in 97.1 innings of work. At one point this season, Aikenhead did not give up an earned run in 25 innings.

Jordie Hein (Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz., Chapparal HS) and Chance Gusbeth (So., Lancaster, Calif., Desert Christian HS) earned second team All-Conference honors. Hein hit .302 with 11 RBI's. He led the team in runs scored (35) and tied the school record for most stolen bases (16) in a season. Gusbeth hit .302 during the regular season with three home runs and led the team in RBI's with 35.

Bakersfield has reached its second consecutive WAC Tournament in as many tries since joining the league in 2013. As the No. 4 seed, the Roadrunners take on Seattle U on Wednesday with a 3 p.m. first pitch. The first day of the tournament concludes with a match up between No. 3 Utah Valley and No. 6 New Mexico State.

No. 1 Sacramento State will play the lowest seed available on Thursday at 7 p.m. with No. 2 UTPA facing the highest seed available on Thursday at 3 p.m. The losers of the first two games play at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The tournament continues Friday with the first championship game set for Saturday at 7 p.m. If necessary, a second championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 12 p.m.
