BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The Bakersfield baseball team (17-25) hosts Cal State Northridge (15-28) Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
This is the third and final game between Bakersfield and Cal State Northridge this season. The Roadrunners have won the previous two games this season and lead the all-time series 10-6.
Cal State Northridge is coming off a series at No. 15 TCU in which the Horned Frogs swept the Matadors. TCU shutout Cal State Northridge in the final two games of the series. Nick Blaser leads Cal State Northridge in hitting (.353) and is tied with Chester Pak for the team lead in RBI's (23).
Bakersfield's junior centerfielder Jordie Hein (Scottsdale, Ariz., Chapparal HS) paces the team in batting average (.299), runs scored (29) and stolen bases (15). His 15 stolen bases are the second most in school history in a season. Hein had a 13-game hitting streak ended against Sacramento State, but he has reached base in 16 straight games entering this week's action. Hein has had 13 multiple-hit games in 41 appearances this season.
