Box Score MANHATTAN, Kan.—Max Brown went 3-for-4 with three RBI's as Kansas State (23-19) handed Bakersfield (16-23) a 13-0 defeat Tuesday night.
Brown's triple with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second cleared the bases and gave K-State a 3-0 advantage. Carter Yagi would ground out to second to drive in Brown for a four-run lead later in the second.
The 'Runners loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the fourth, but on a 3-1 pitch from Wildcats' starter Jordan Witcig, Logan Trowbridge (Jr., Santa Cruz, Calif., College of San Mateo) flew out to left to end the inning. The Wildcats responded by scoring three runs with two outs in the bottom of the fourth for a 7-0 lead. K-State scored once in the fifth and five more in the eighth.
Shane Conlon also recorded three hits for Kansas State. Austin Fisher and Ross Kivett each had two hits for K-State. Mylz Jones (So., Palmdale, Calif., Paraclete HS) was 2-for-4 while Jordie Hein (Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz., Chapparal HS) went 2-for-3. The Wildcats outhit the Roadrunners 17-10.
The Roadrunners return home Friday to open a three-game series against Sacramento State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
