BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—Three CSU Bakersfield men's soccer players earned NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's All-West Region honors Dec. 10.
Christian Duarte (Jr., Houston, Texas, Clear Springs HS) and Julian Zamora (R-Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Golden Valley HS) were selected first team All-Region. Duarte earned first team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season after scoring five goals, dishing out five assists, and recording 15 points.
Zamora was selected WAC Freshman of the Year and first team All-Conference. He became the second Roadrunner men's soccer play to score at least 10 goals in a season at the Division I level when he led CSUB with 12 this past season.
Joe Masumiya (R-Sr., Lakewood, Calif., Lakewood HS) was chosen third team All-Region. Masumiya was named second team All-Conference upon the conclusion of a season in which he scored two goals and had four assists for eight points.
CSU Bakersfield finished the season with a 10-7-5 record, advancing to the finals of the WAC Tournament, tying UNLV before the Rebels advanced to the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks.
