BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The Bakersfield volleyball team travels to Long Beach State and UC Davis this weekend.

The Roadrunners head to Long Beach Friday for two matches in the Long Beach State Baiden Classic. Bakersfield takes on the host 49ers at 11 a.m. and Prairie View A&M at 5 p.m. On Sunday CSUB faces the Aggies at 1 p.m.

This is the second time that Bakersfield and Long Beach State are playing volleyball. The 49ers defeated the Roadrunners 3-0 during the 2007 season in the only previous meeting between the two teams. Long Beach State is 5-4 entering a Wednesday match agains No. 11 UCLA The 49ers are led by Delainey Aigner-Swesey who has 131 kills, 93 digs, and 20 digs through the first 10 matches this season.

This is the first time that the Roadrunners and Prairie View are playing volleyball against one another. The Lady Panthers (2-12) snapped a 12-match losing streak with a 3-0 victory over NAIA Huston-Tillotson on Monday night. Magda Zietek paces the team with 117 kills.

A former Division II foe, Bakersfield leads the all-time series against UC Davis 23-8. The teams are playing for the first time since the 2008 season when the Aggies defeated the 'Runners 3-1. The Aggies are 6-5 entering a Thursday match against California. Kaylin Squyres leads UC Davis with 134 kills.

Bakersfield went 1-2 at the Fresno State Classic Sept. 20-21. The Roadrunners lost 3-0 to No. 20 Oregon and 3-0 to the host Bulldogs. The 'Runners defeated Belmont 3-0. Julia Bowen (Sr., Ottawa, Ontario, Wilfred Lauer Univ.) was selected to the All-Tournament team at the Fresno State Classic after averaging 1.33 kills on .500 hitting and 1.11 blocks per set.
