IRVINE, Calif.-No. 21 UC Irvine (11-2) defeated CSU Bakersfield (8-4) 6-1 to break CSUB's five-game winning streak Tuesday night

Cael Brockmeyer (Jr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) put the Roadrunners on the board in the top of the first with an RBI single. The Anteaters took the lead in the third with a four-run outburst highlighted by a two-run home run from Dominique Taylor.

Irvine added two in the top of the ninth when Connor Spencer drove in a run with a ground out to first and a tally on a CSUB passed ball.

Taylor Aikenhead (Jr., Lancaster, Calif., Bakersfield College) took the loss after going the first seven innings. He gave up five hits and struck out three. Five Irvine pitchers limited the Roadrunners to five hits. Taylor had two of the six UCI hits.

CSU Bakersfield opens a three-game series at UC Davis Friday with game one at 2:30 p.m.
