BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team ended the 2012-13 season on a winning note by defeating the University of New Orleans 85-55 Mar 2.
Amber Williams (Sr., Fontana, Calif., Etiwanda HS) led four Roadrunners in double figures with 20 points. Ciarra Ford (Sr., Long Beach, Calif., Mt. Sac College) and Tyonna Outland (R-So., Compton, Calif., Lynwood HS) both scored 14 points. Janae Coffee (R-So., Fresno, Calif., Long Beach State) scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman Batabe Zempare (Accra, Ghana, Scottsdale Chapparal HS) hauled in a season best 16 rebounds to go along with eight points.
CSUB led 45-20 at halftime after holding UNO to seven first half field goals. The Roadrunners scored 30 points off of 25 New Orleans turnovers. CSUB improved by five wins over a year ago (12-19). UNO ends the season 3-23.
