BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The Bakersfield men's soccer team is the No. 2 seed and will head to Air Force for this week's Western Athletic Conference Tournament. The Roadrunners take on Kansas City, the No. 7 seed Thursday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. (MST).

The winner of the CSUB-UMKC match will face the winner of the 3-6 match between UNLV (3) and San Jose State (6). That match will take place Friday at 6 p.m. (MST).  The championship match is set for Sunday at 12 p.m. (MST).

Senior Scott Luedtke was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year Nov. 12. Luedtke started all 10 conference matches for Bakersfield as the Roadrunners finished in second place in the standings.  As the center back, Luedtke set the defense for Bakersfield and acted as a coach on the field.  Offensively, he had a game-winning goal and one assist against San Jose State and added three shots on goal in conference play. He was also named first team All-Conference as a defender.

Two other Roadrunners earned All-Conference honors. Sophomore Christian Duarte was selected first team All-Conference while redshirt junior Joe Masumiya was named second team All-Conference.

Bakersfield forward Eduardo Calzada has been named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Nov. 4-10. He also earned the same honor from College Sports Madness.

Calzada, a sophomore from South Los Angeles, Calif. (Roosevelt HS), had two goals and two assists in Bakersfield's 4-3 win over UNLV to help the Roadrunners clinch the number two seed in this week's WAC Tournament.  After trailing 2-0, Calzada had an assist to get Bakersfield on the board.  He then scored the next two goals to give the 'Runners a 3-2 lead before assisting on the game-winner in the 82nd minute.  The six points are the most by a WAC player this season.
