BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball hosts Cal State Northridge Wednesday looking for the program's sixth consecutive victory.

CSUB and the Matadors are playing for the seventh time with the Roadrunners leading the all-time series 4-2. Northridge defeated the Roadrunners 54-52 last season in Northridge.

The Matadors broke a three-game losing streak with a 80-70 double overtime victory over Cal Poly Jan. 26. Stepping out of Big West Conference play, Cal State Northridge is 11-8 on the year. Ashlee Guay leads the Matadors in scoring (13.4). Marta Masoni is second on the team in points per game (12.8).

Redshirt sophomore guard Tyonna Outland (Compton, Calif., Lynwood HS) was selected CollegeSportsMadness Independent Player of the Week for the second week in a row Jan. 28. This is the third time this season she has earned the honor. Outland scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in CSUB's 70-51 victory over Chicago State Jan. 23.
