SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield water polo team fell to No. 1 Stanford and Pacific on the final day of the UC Santa Barbara Invitational Sunday.

The Cardinal defeated the Roadrunners 20-3 Sunday morning. Sam Shead (Sr., Johannesburg, South Africa (Rand Park HS), Paige Tsuruda (Jr., Honolulu, Hawai'i, Word of Life Academy), and Caitlyn Hill (So., Porterville, Calif., Porterville HS) scored the CSUB goals. Victoria Cavaldoro (Sr., Fresno, Calif., Fresno City College) drew three ejections. Alex Bayer (So., Alta Loma, Calif., Los Osos HS) made seven saves.

The Roadrunners dropped a 8-5 decision to Pacific to conclude the CSUB stay in Santa Barbara. Shannon McKenzie (R-Sr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Rancho Cucamonga HS) scored two goals and drew two ejections in the Roadrunner effort. Jessica Browning (Sr., Lake Forest, Calif., El Toro HS), Amanda Nesbit (Sr., Chino Hills, Calif., Chino Hills HS), and Niki De Leon (Fr., Montebello, Calif., Montebello HS) each scored a Roadrunner goal. Byaer posted five saves.

"We did a lot of a positive things against Stanford," said CSUB head coach Jason Gall. "We.had 23 attempts against Pacific. We are creating good opportunities, we just need to convert. We are going to focus on our offense in our preparation this week."

The tough early schedule continues for CSUB as the Roadrunners face No. 6 UC Irvine (for the second time) and No. 7 San Diego State next Saturday at Cal Baptist beginning at 10:30 a.m.
