2009: Shannon McKenzie emerged as one of CSUB’s top offensive threats during the season...named to the WWPA All-Freshman team...scored 46 goals, the fourth highest mark on the squad...was second on the team with a 46.5 shooting percentage...ranked fourth with 1.35 goals per game, 99 shot attempts, 23 assists and 17 ejections drawn...led the team in scoring six times during the season.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA HS: McKenzie played for coach Jason Walters at Rancho Cucamonga HS in the Baseline League...a three-time first team all-league honoree...named team MVP three times...earned third team All-CIF Division III honors as a junior...a scholar-athlete...played for the CHAWP Water Polo Club for Coach Gall and participated at the Junior Olympics from 2002-06...member of the 2007 National Coastal Zone Team.

PERSONAL: McKenzie will major in special education or psychology at CSUB...would like to pursue a minor in history...wants to become a teacher after graduation...cousin, Kevin Perkins, played baseball for UC Riverside and is in the Marlins’ minor league system...cousin, Cheryl Selenak, played volleyball at Fresno State...outside interests include coaching, refereeing and spending time with friends and family.
